Authorization of agent and
waste negotiation
There are two figures for the authorization of waste management:
1. Waste agent
It is an operator who acts on behalf of a third party, managing the treatment of waste in their name. However, the responsibility for the waste falls on the third party, whether it is the producer or a different holder, who decides who will handle the treatment.
2. Waste trader
Unlike the agent, this individual operates independently, acquiring the waste from the manufacturer or from whoever has it in their possession. The purchase operation involves the transfer of ownership, which must be carried out in accordance with a contract between the parties.
To obtain authorization as a waste agent or trader, it is necessary to submit various technical documents and make a payment.
Advantages of Obtaining Waste Manager Authorization
Just like in the previous roles, operating without the corresponding authorization can result in severe penalties, with fines ranging from 100,001 euros to 3,500,000 euros. Moreover, having this authorization allows your organization to avoid complications during inspections and is a common requirement that many clients demand from their suppliers. This, in turn, indirectly contributes to the economic growth of the company that receives the authorization.
